Winter Competitions

Winter Running Series
During the winter season Athletics NSW conducts championships which include cross country, road races and relays.  Runners compete for the Distance Runner of the Year accolade.

A number of NSW Athletics Clubs also conduct T&F competitions during winter. A full list of these competitons can be found on the ANSW Calendar of Events.

In past years the Manly Warringah Athletics Club hosted a series of winter T&F competitions at the Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation, Narrabeen. The club is considering a return of these winter competitions.

Winter Club Premiership and Club Trophy
Athletes competing at the Winter Series earn points that contribute to the overall Club Premiership and Club Trophy. The Club Premiership points are awarded to teams in the Junior, Open and Masters divisions for all NSW Winter Championship Events except for long and short walks.

The Club Trophy points represent an overall total number of points obtained across all age divisions in the Winter Club Premiership Series, plus additional points for the total number of participants in each event.
