Becoming a Coach

From time to time the Manly Warringah Athletics (Sydney Pacific) club seeks new Coaches for different events and disciplines.

Athletics Australia (AA) sets the coaching framework and each state organisation managers their coach education and registration for new, developing and experienced coaches. The Australian Track & Field Coaches Association (ATFCA) conducts other education for coaches throughout the year.

Completing a Coaching Course gains Coaching Accreditation with Athletics Australia. The majority of Manly Warringah Athletics (Sydney Pacific) Coaches are members of both AA and ATFCA.

Athletics Australia requires Accredited Coaches to have a Working With Children Number (WWCN) in their home State or Territory. Manly Warringah Athletics (Sydney Pacific) Club Coaches are required to provide their NSW WWCN to the Club Registrar as articulated in the Manly Warringah Athletics (Sydney Pacific) 'Member Protection Policy'.
